It’s a Wednesday night, you’ve made it through the work day and only have one day more to go before the weekend – so why not start your weekend a little early with a Wednesday evening brunch ?
Enter Intersect by Lexus, located in the DIFC you are instantly absorbed by the modern relaxed atmosphere, live music and chattering of guests at dinner tables.
Not to mention the high impact ‘wow’ statement of the bright yellow Lexus (the concept LC 500) at the bottom floor of the restaurant.
Let your Wednesday evening brunch begin.
What I’m Wearing:
Silk beaded top: (oldie) Nordstrom
Shoes: Ted Baker
After a quick mosey around the sleek LF -C2 and retails items offered on the restaurant floor (many of which are created exclusively for Lexus) it was time to take our seats and let the dining begin.
Starting off with a selection of salad and the house cocktails we settled into the first course.
The salads are offered in a buffet style so stuff your plate with as much as you like.
Kale sunflower and avocado salad
Butternut with pepitas and pumpkin seed pesto
Kohlrabi, turnips and labneh
chickpea and hazelnut
Heirloom beetroot salad with ricotta cheese
Heritage carrots with pistachio pesto
Red cabbage with peanut dressing
After two rounds of excellent fresh salads it was time to move onto the mains which are brought right to your table.
Like many set menu brunches any specific dish that you really enjoy can be reordered as many times as you like.
Crudites with black chickpea hummus
Lamb, kale and spring onion gyoza
carrot emulsion and yogurt tarline
lentil pate on an unleavened buckwheat bread
baby squid with sweet corn jus and puffed rice
beef bresaola with coriander apple salad
The menu switches from buffet to a selection of a la carte dishes of which you can choose one.
I decided on the prawns moghrabieh with vegetables and tomato sauce .
Louise selected the mushroom and barley risotto with sour cream.
(both came recommended from our waiter and I can agree they are both excellent, generous portions and extremely satisfying)
Like all brunches it ended on a sweet note with a selection of four desserts.
Lemon mousse with lime and lemon candy (Louise’s favorite)
Chocolate brownie with vanilla custard (my favorite)
Carrot cake with white chocolate labneh
Seasonal fruits with honey
All in all it was a wonderful Wednesday night feast.
Intersect by Lexus offers a unique selection of evening brunch items and an excellent post-work chill out atmosphere that we enjoyed thoroughly.
In short I would definitely recommend it. It’s guaranteed to be a well spent Wednesday evening.
The brunch is held every Wednesday at the DIFC location.
