The drawing room of the St. Regis Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi offers afternoon daily from 2pm to 6pm.
Mr. Z and I had stayed the night at the St. Regis for little staycation escape from Dubai and before departing on Saturday sat down to complete our little trip with an afternoon tea.
If you have been reading my blog for some time you will know that I’m a lover of afternoon tea and always excited to try another.
The drawing room afternoon tea offers a fun ‘fashion’ twist – you’ll see why in just a bit.
What I’m Wearing:
Dress: Top Shop
Cardigan: Juicy Couture
Wallet: Louis Vuitton
Taking our seats we were given an overview of the special teas offered.
Presented in beautiful little glasses for a quick sniff, I decided on The St. Regis Saadiyat Island exclusive sweet vanilla blend.
Tea sandwiches of turkey, salmon, tuna and egg as well as cute jar containing a mini tomato and mozzarella salad were all presented on the first tray.
We nibbled away and compared each. My favorite was the brioche topped with smoked salmon and thinly (like really thinly) sliced cucumber.
The second tray was a a presentation of semi-sweet pastries to prep the palate for scones.
Matched with the sweet notes of my Saadiyat exclusive tea it was a match made in heaven.
Of course no afternoon tea is afternoon tea without warm wonderful scones.
The scones come in original, chocolate chip and raisin.
Covering the scones in jams and fresh clotted cream we sat back and took in the views of the sea from The Drawing Rooms grand windows.
Our final nibbles of the afternoon were a selection of sweet treats.
To finish on the fashion note as well the sliced strawberries were presented as a dress for a cute chocolate figurine.
My perfect shade of pink.
It’s white chocolate !
A wonderful afternoon tea and a fantastic stay at The St. Regis Saadiyat
