Another Thursday night in Dubai and the new place to get your weekend started is with Brasserie Quartier’s Tasting Table at Dubai’s St. Regis Hotel.
Now this isn’t your typical dinner atmosphere either. The music in Brasserie Quartier is changed from its normal tunes to a slightly more upbeat rhythm prepping you for the night ahead.
While it still holds the charm and sophistication excepted of a St. Regis restaurant the Tasting Table concept is to share a generous selection of specially selected nibbles and drinks before carrying on your night.
What I’m Wearing:
When we arrived at 8:30pm Brasserie Quartier was already buzzing.
We took our seats and started with a glass of red for Mr. Z and white for me of St. Regis’s exclusive label.
Let the tasting begin!
The Tasting Table comes with five starters followed by five mains and five desserts which can all be accompanied by the house grape.
The fanastic thing about the Thursday Tasting Table is it takes out the hassle and somewhat awkwardness of groups or couples deciding on what dishes to share.
This way it is all done for you, so you can sit back, relax and start to enjoy the beginning to your weekend.
Steak Tartare ~ Queensland St. Regis wagyu black olive, cornichon, basil
Buratta ~ Daterino tomatoes, slow cooked eggplant
Traditional Wood Fired Alsacian Thin Pizza ~ sour cream, onion, smoked veal
Brasserie Quartier Crab Caesar Salad ~red gem lettuce, parmesan, sour dough crackers coriander caesar dressing
Fried Calamari ~ lemon harissa aioli
As I’m sure you can see from the above you don’t need me to tell you how good the starters were!
The tartar and tort were my absolutely favorties.
I’m sure you will love them to.
We sipped, nibbled and chatted about weekend plans as we enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere.
Lemon Tagliatelle ~ coriander pesto, spring onion, olive oil and lemon
Grilled Meager ~ olive oil, zucchini, basil rocket pesto
Steak Frites ~ Queensland St. Regis wagyu sirloin, hand cut french fries, pepper sauce
Beef ‘Bourguignon’ ~ slow cooked beef cheek, carrot purée button, mushrooms, veal bacon, pearl onions
Pan Roasted Sea Bream Filet ~ artichoke, sauce vierge
The mains are a wonderful selection of fish, meats and tasty pasta.
Something for everyone.
Each dish is able to stand on its own with rich flavors and different textures while all at the same time not impairing the taste of the others.
The ultimate dish hoping.
My personal favorites – the lemon tagliatelle and the pan roasted sea bream. YUM!!
Now at this point you will already be satisfied but who can’t make just a little extra room for dessert right?
It is the weekend after all …. a little indulgence never hurt anybody.
Especially when they are presented at your table by the cutest of dessert trollies.
Fresh cream and whip ?
Don’t mind if I do…
Did I not say the perfect way to start your weekend?
