Now I know the day has already passed but happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
I do hope everyone enjoyed this sappy oh so cheesy (but oh so great) holiday.
Like many couples on Valentine’s Day my partner in crime and I set off for a romantic dinner.
In our case, that meant heading off to Dubai’s new St. Regis Hotel.

They say a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and what man’s heart doesn’t swoon for a nice juicy steak?
Inside the St. Regis Hotel sits J&G steakhouse. Taking off of the American classic steakhouse J&G puts it’s own tasteful twist making it anything but the classic greased down establishment you may think of when it comes to a good American steak.
Don’t get me wrong though, by all means the charm of a true American steakhouse has not been lost at J&G’s.
The dark woods and dim lights set the ambiance as we take our seats with a glass of welcome bubbles in hand.
As it was Valentine’s day the menu was pre-set.
Mr. Z and I weren’t complaining though. Who would when you know you have scallops, foie gras, lobster ravioli and of course a beautiful cut of steak on the menu?!
The wine was poured and our evening was ready to begin.
Scallop Sashimi ~ shallot and vanilla puree, olive powder, samphire.
Foie Gras parfait ~ Porcini crisp, pickled cherries.
Beef filled ravioli
And course the main.
Time for steak.
A perfectly cooked piece of beef with potato with sauce and herb cheese.
With so many beautiful savory dishes the sweet flavors of dessert came as lovely ending note.
Strawberry carpaccio, poached peach, rhubarb and raspberry sorbet and meringue.
So there you have it.
A little peak into Z’s and my Valentines Day dinner.
If you haven’t visited the St. Regis yet I highly recommend it. I think it will fit in perfectly with rest of Dubai’s hotel hot spots.
