It was a Friday, and as you know that means brunch in Dubai.
The El Sur restaurant is very much a standalone from the rest of the Westin Hotel, with its dim lighting, smokey bar and cool crowd you feel far away from the tourists on holiday there.
While the location and ambiance definitely lean towards an evening chill out and perfectly crafted cocktail, Z and I decided to tango with the new El Sur brunch.
In the proper Spanish fashion I started off with a classic sangria.
Do keep in mind though it is not an all you can eat.
You are allowed six dishes a person from a selection of fourteen dishes.
However, your drinks are bottomless.
Careful, the olives have pits.
So much in fact that we ordered seconds.
I highly recommend it should you give this menu a try.
The Fish Tiradito.
Freshly battered and fried fresh you can’t go wrong with this order.
I did and liked it.
Red or white both are winners at this brunch.
A mix of warm baked potato slices, sausage and a runny egg.
This brought the breakfast to this brunch.
Just look at that eggy goodness.
It looked so lovely outside, El Sur also hosts a lovely balcony dining area I thought it was closed to brunchers which I found a little odd.
Crema catalana and arroz con leche – translates to catalana cream and rice pudding.
The catalana cream was my favorite while Z will picked the side of the rice pudding.
I guess you will have to try both and let us know which you prefer!
A perfect brunch for two.
