Crisp autumn air, snow capped mountains and a crystal clear lake, the smooth surface of which is only broken by the graceful gliding of swans.
You guessed it. I must be in Lugano.
For those of you who don’t know, I used to live here – four years at a small university nestled between the boarder of the alps and the lakes of northern Italy; only 45 minutes from Milan.
Mr. Z had a conference to attend and as it happened to be Lugano (and Mr. Z just having celebrated his birthday) I couldn’t help but tag along. We arrived few days before the conference so that we could enjoy a few of our favorite places.
Walking down into Lugano we stopped and admired all the beautiful details.
Adjacent to the lake, this little restaurant offers all the feelings of a proper home-cooked meal, fresh ingredients and with a changing seasonal menu it’s not to be missed.
A little mid-meal hot chocolate to warm things up.
Mr. Z went for the seasonal wild boar pasta (they make it themselves).
Be sure to try any of their home made pastas if you go.
Strolling along in the chilled weather surrounded by the lakes beautiful heritage was nothing short of refreshing to be back.
