Luka’s steak-tastic birthday dinner.
As you may know my last post was on Luka’s birthday cake recipe. No, these posts aren’t out of order. We did in fact have slices of brownie Nutella birthday cake before going out for a proper birthday dinner – but hey if the birthday boy wants cake before dinner (and who wouldn’t want a slice of this baked beauty) then who are we to say no!?
After finishing our slices of Nutella cake we jumped into an Uber and set off for dinner.
Luka wanted steak and Wolfgang’s was said to be the best in town.
Little did we know just how amazing it would be.
Into The Address and up the stairs we went.
Oh hey there old man. How old are you turning?
Up the stairs and around the corner we entered into the dim lit dark wood drinking hole, where large red leather bar seats were waiting for us. We hopped right up (well at least I had to) to start our evening with some birthday drinks.
After a fun chat with our ridiculously charming (and skilled) bar tender we were shown to our table.
We had just begun to tuck into the mouth watering menu when our server appeared with a mountain of beautiful cuts. Delicate marbling and never frozen (something hard to find in Dubai) we were explained how all of Wolfgang’s meats are a cut above the rest.
We eagerly made our selections.
Of course no meal is complete without freshly baked breads.
A very happy birthday boy.
Slicing, bitting, cutting, and sharing we dug in.
So lets cut to the chase shall we?
It was delicious, absolutely delicious. If you want a proper cut of steak in Dubai then Cut is the place. Period. I know the boys will back me on this one. I’d highly recommend the fillet mignon – melt in your mouth good.
Then, just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, there was a bombardment of dessert.
Make a wish!
Now top with melted chocolate ….
Vanilla ice cream ….
Chocolate ice cream ….
And chocolate sauce …
To seal the deal.
Now just one more time for extra luck.
And lets not forget about the other beauties on the table.
I took one last bite of the refreshing crosscut flavors of the raspberry pistachio baked alaska before putting my spoon down in happy defeat. We were all stuffed. I glanced over at the birthday boy who looked like he had begun to slip into a delightful food coma.
Ending our birthday feast, we stepped out onto the balcony to take in the views before heading back into the DIFC for more birthday mischief.
Overall a wonderful evening with only the best company.
Happy Birthday Luka. You cheeky Croatian you.
