Oh, did I mention it was my birthday!
A quick few photos with the iconic market sign and we were off to explore the shops and stands.
We also ordered a steamed pork bun and the best crab rangoon I’v ever had, I would have ordered more but they only had only one left from the batch (after tasting it was easy to see why).
Including the famous fish stands.
Drifting through the different shops Mr. Z stopped in his tracks when he saw these ‘fruit logs’. Having lived in Seattle himself he knew what couldn’t be passed up.
We took one of each flavor. Cherry, apple pie, kiwi, strawberry, and peach. All real fruit and so delicious – real, natural, local and a total treat !!
Even with all of our snacking Mr. Z and I decided to sit down at Lowell’s for a proper Seattle lunch.
My Roy Rogers (basically a shirley temple but with coke instead of sprite). Topped with extra cherries of course (it was my birthday after all).
Now for the food. We decided to split a bread bowl filled with with creamy clam chowder and a mixed grill plate straight out of the bay.
Now don’t think we were full, I mean we were, but there is always room for dessert.
Mr. Z couldn’t pass up his favourite from this local bakery – cinnamon buns
And I followed my nose around the corner to the sweet smell of fresh doughnuts from Daily Dozen Doughnut Co.
Oh yes, maple toping please.
