I love cookies. Like I really, really love cookies. I love all things sweet, but I really love cookies.
Naturally I had to remedy this.
Because (like I stated above) I just adore cookies I couldn’t settle on just one M&M cookie recipe. So I was able to narrow it down to four.
1. Classic plain M&M cookie
2. M&M and chocolate chip cookie
3. Oatmeal M&M cookie
4. Oatmeal M&M and cream cheese frosting
As you can imagine – this was a serious bake session.
First up, classic M&M cookies
Dough: 2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1.2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter softened
1 1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
bag of M&Ms
1. Preheat your oven to 180C.
While that fires up add all the dry ingredients together and set aside.
2. In a new bowl mix together the soften butter.
This part is key – make sure your butter is at room temperate and easily mixable for this recipe to be a success.
Add the sugar until smooth and somewhat fluffy-ish….. yes that is the technical cookie term.
3. Add in the vanilla and egg.
Mix them all together.
4. Once this is done slowly start mixing in your dry ingredients.
Same story here – roll up your new dough into little balls and place them in for baking.
Again you can just eyeball these until the edges start to turn somewhat golden – if you like them with a bit of a crunch wait until the edges are very golden before removing.
You should end up with something like these beauties.
Now slap me on the wrist – I used oatmeal cookie base from a pre-made bag but as I made the other dough from scratch I thought it ok this one time (for the sake of time).
I simply followed the instructions on the back of the packaging which called for 1/2 a cup of butter (softened), 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water.
Then quickly mixed them all together and boom !
Toss in your M&Ms
Cookies are wonderful.
They are portable, taste great hot or old and come in every flavor or mix imaginable!
If you decided to make your own batch of M&M cookies please be sure to share them with me!
(even better if you #themissw and show me a picture of your handy work) Can’t wait to see your tasty creations :)
Xx Cheers for now and happy baking !
