A weekend get away
Hi everyone! I am so excited to share this post with you! I just spent the weekend in pure luxury at the Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah.
After setting in, we wandered down to the lobby for a bite before our tee time at the Al Hamra Golf Club. We decided to take a seat in the iconic Peacock Alley, the signature bar of Waldorf Astoria. I indulged in what had to be the best iced white chocolate mocha ever, seriously, ever and a roast beef sandwich with homemade potato chips which left us satisfied and ready to head to the course.
The spa offers a wide variety of massages and treatments. We first took advantage of the steam room (complementary to guests and separated for men and women). I ended up having the whole place to myself – even on a weekend! First I was invited into the relaxation room, which offers fresh cucumber water, loose-leaf teas and little nibbles including some lovely cinnamon muffins and fresh banana bread. Just one room over was the steam room, offering an herbal steam, Finnish bath, and classic steam room. I tried, and enjoyed, all three though I believe the classic steam room was my favorite. After a steam, I was invited to use the tropical shower to rinse off and a large bowl of crushed ice waited in the center to use on the face to close the pores afterwards. Very refreshing.
Inspired by Lexington Avenue in New York we heading down to the grill after a quick change from the spa. I opted for the classic clam chowder soup as my starter and a beef tartar for my main; which I must say, as an avid tartar order, was one of the best I have had in a long while. Mr. Z decided on the sirloin steak which was hung for 21 days before being served! For dessert I indulged in delicious yogurt mouse. Full and happy we did venture up to the club on the top floor, but as it was dead we decided it was time to retire and sink into our glorious bed.

The next morning around 10AM we headed for breakfast before our 11am spa appointment (today it was time for a proper massage). It was a full buffet complete with omelette and eggs benedict station. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm air while tucking into our endless breakfasts.
A Memorable Weekend
